Senior Java Developer with experience in banking (M/W)

PROJECT INFORMATION:

• Details: This role is to work in a team that develops & manages numerous systems around the core Foreign Exchange (FX) booking system. In this role you will develop & deliver the high-availability low-latency real-time distributed systems in the Foreign Exchange (FX) and Money Market (MM) trading space.

• Location: Domaniewska 39A, Warsaw OR Wielicka, Cracow

• Business trips: Occasionally

• Remote work: Now 100%, then 1-2 days a week

• Project language: English/Polish

• Project length: Long-term cooperation

• Remuneration: Up to 180 PLN/H + VAT depending on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role offers significant participation in a re-engineering project to streamline and optimise the estate, giving you the ability to make a difference and lasting impact as a strong member of the development team. The role involves learning and enhancing existing low-latency systems, designing and building new micro-services covering FX and MM trade capture and process flows.

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.

• Contribute to the overall design and development of Client’s proprietary Foreign Exchange (FX) and Money Market (MM) trade management systems.

• Develop a deep understanding of the currency and money market flows .

• Work closely with agile team and business users (including sales and trading) to understand needs and as a team translate these into system requirements.

• Provide Level 2 support as needed.

• Provides input on design and implementation decisions for the Foreign Exchange Post Trade technology platform

REQUIREMENTS:

• 8+ years of experience with development in Java with recent experience designing and building highly performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications

• Experience in the banking sector (preferably investment banking)

• Focused on writing well designed, readable and testable code

• Experience in multithreaded techniques and patterns

• Proficiency in Spring

• Data caching: Oracle Coherence or Apache Ignite

• Knowledge of databases as KDB, Sybase SQL server

• Ability to write unit and functional BDD tests

• Very good oral and written English communication skills

• Familiarity with Scrum methodology
